Tommy Emmanuel - Биография |
Томми Эмманюэль родился в Австралии в 1956 году. Он начал играть на гитаре в 4 года самоучкой, не имея никакого специального образования. Томми так никогда и не получил академического музыкального образования, он - яркий образец того, что есть люди, которым Бог дал все что необходимо уже при рождении, а вся их остальная жизнь – это всего лишь реализация того, что им было дано природой. В 1960 году, старший брат Томми – 7-летний Фил создал группу, гордо назвав её «The Emmanuel Quartet». В группу Фил взял и четырехлетнего Томми. Прорепетировав несколько месяцев, мальчишки начали публичные выступления, и с тех пор братья Эмманюэли так и не останавливаются работать на сцене всю свою жизнь. В 1966 году, после смерти отца, желая помочь семье, 12-летний Томми начал преподавать гитару, и был уважаем наравне с другими взрослыми преподавателями, ибо уже тогда в нем были видны его экстраординарные музыкальные способности.
В 11 лет, будучи уже опытными музыкантами-исполнителями, Томми привлекает в группу младшего брата Криса, играющего на ударных, и сестру Виржинию, которая играет на слайд гитаре. Новую группу они называют «The Trailblazers» и начинают интенсивно гастролировать. Через год после создания группы Томми выигрывает телевизионный конкурс молодых талантов и записывает свою первую пластинку. С тех пор Томми сделал свыше 2000 записей, выпустил 16 сольных альбомов и участвовал в записях едва ли не всех звезд мировой сцены. В своих работах, Томми, кроме гитары, играет на банджо, мандолине, ударных и перкуссивных инструментах, фортепиано, поет, аранжирует и выступает в качестве композитора.
Приехав впервые в Штаты, Томми первым делом поехал в Нэшвилл, к своему кумиру Чету Аткинсу, которого боготворил и копировал. Его дружба с Четом продолжалась около 20 лет (до самой смерти Чета). В 1998 году, после многих лет дружбы, они записали совместный альбом, который я не устаю слушать и поражаться. К концу своей жизни Чет Аткинс не раз говорил, что теперь уже он учится у Томми и считает его лучшим гитаристом из ныне живущих.
